About the Company

Ernie Giese, the artist and proprietor of Model Railroad Customizing, became interested in N-scale modeling during the late 60's. Disappointed with the variety and quality of products then available, he began painting prototypically correct engines for himself. Showing his work to local hobby shops led quickly to attracting a number of customers. After 15 years of painting engines, he began producing well-researched prototypically correct boxcars. These have become the basis of his "Rip Track" line of boxcars since 1990. More recently, he has been doing custom painting of engines and passenger cars. At this time, he maintains a limited inventory of these items and paints mostly on a customer order basis. The items on his TrackMyTrains.com database are a great variety of his prototypically correct boxcars.
