TrackMyTrains.com is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from those disclosed in this statement. TrackMyTrains.com collects information from our users at several different points on our website.
Registration
In order to subscribe to this service, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration, a subscriber is required to give their contact information (such as name and email address). This information is used to contact the subscriber about the services on our site for which they have expressed interest.

Subscription Order
In order to process a subscription order, we request billing information from the subscriber on our enrollment page. A subscriber must provide contact information (e.g., name and billing address) and financial information (e.g., credit card number, expiration date) here. This information is used only for billing purposes and is not retained by TrackMyTrains.com or shared with any other party. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to contact the subscriber.

Log Files
We may use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. This information can help us constantly improve our system by keeping track of features popular with our customers. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Sharing
Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling it to others. We share customer information only as described below:
  • Agents: We may use a third-party credit card processing company to bill users for our service. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. They have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.
  • Promotional Offers: Sometimes we may send offers to selected groups of TrackMyTrains.com customers on behalf of other businesses. When we do this, we do not give that business your name and address. If you do not want to receive such offers, please adjust the”opt-out” preferences in your Memeber Profile page.
  • Business Transfers:: As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy assets. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets. Also, in the unlikely event that TrackMyTrains.com, or substantially all of its assets are acquired, customer information will of course be one of the transferred assets.
  • Protection of TrackMyTrains.com and Others: We release account and other personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with law; enforce or apply our Membership Agreement and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of TrackMyTrains.com, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
  • With Your Consent: Other than as set out above, you will receive notice when information about you might go to third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.
  • Aggregate Information: We will share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.
  • Collection Information: Because many members wish to share their collection information with other hobbyists, TrackMyTrains.com offers a variety of options in this regard. Sharing your collection information is controlled entirely by the subscribing member and collection information sharing preferences can be changed on the member profile page.

  • This website takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, such as credit card number, we work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, the best encryption software in the industry, which encrypts information you input.
  • We reveal only the last five digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing.
  • It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.
Special Offers
We send all new members a welcoming email to verify password and username. Established members will occasionally receive information on new services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our users, we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see our choice and opt-out below.
Site and Service Updates
We also send user site and service announcement updates. Members are not able to un-subscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service. We communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account via email or phone.

Correction/Updating Personal Information:
If a user’s personally identifiable information (such as your zip code) changes, or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user’s personal data provided to us. This can usually be done at the member profile page or by emailing our Customer Support.
Choice/Opt-out
Our users are given the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for the information. For example, our member profile form has an ‘opt-out’ mechanism so users who subscribe to our service, but don’t want any marketing material, can keep their email address off of our lists. Users who no longer wish to receive promotional materials from our partners may opt-out of receiving these communications by adjusting your “opt-out” preference on the member profile page.

Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If, at any point, we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we would notify users by way of an email. Users will be able to choose whether we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
